Rave On :: What They Say About Us

Although we do not have any quotes (yet!) from professional critics or music industry experts, here are some unsolicited words from fans that have seen Rave On play or heard the music from this website.

"Awesome show in Grimsby Friday night ! It was the first time I've had the pleasure to see your band, but it won't be the last."

                     Brian, Hamilton

"My wife and daughters and I really enjoyed your music on Friday at the Rumour Mill. Once you got warmed up there was no stopping you!  The tunes were delivered with accuracy, feeling and showmanship. Well done, and thanks for making this our first ever fun night out in Grimsby!  We used to think we would need to go to a bigger city for this quality of entertainment.  So come back soon.

"See my blog about your performance, http://www.wineandleisure.com/blog/note20.html"

                     Paul Singer, Beamsville

"Just wanted to pass along my thoughts on last night's performance. I've been getting into the blues the past year or two and Stevie quickly became the be all and end all of music to me. He embodies everything I feel in my soul when I listen to his tracks. It was difficult coming to terms with the fact that I'd never get to see him in the flesh, but my experience at Healey's yesterday was profound to say the least, and I feel fulfilled. Both as a band, and as an individual channeling Stevie, you touched me, nailing every song perfectly. I've paid ten times the money for shows ten percent as good as what you did last night, and I'm damn thankful that I was able to be there. Cheers for the unbelievable success at duplicating such a legend, and thank you all for three hours of bliss.

"All the very best",

                     Robert M, Newmarket

Here is an article from the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, published on November 18, 2006. A nice piece on tribute bands and it features Rave On.

"YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! My boyfriend and I were at the Bread and Honey festival ... and heard you play for the first time...it was amazingly uncanny how much like the SRV legend you sound! Renny, your style and talent are truly a tribute to Stevie Ray and all his music represents...when I closed my eyes, it was like he wasn't gone. Loved listening to you and the band play....very entertaining!

"Thanks for the awesome sound experience."

                     Sue D, Mississauga, Ontario

"I saw you guys last night at the Fiddler's Green in Cambridge... As a
fellow guitar player and huge fan of Stevie's I was absolutely blown away by
your guitar skills and the sweet tone you had going on. I loved the get up
and everything. Keep up the awesome job..."

                     Leigh, Cambridge

I enjoyed the band very much last night, You do an incredible good job of Stevie...It was an utmost pleasure seeing you play!  You have his stuff down tight. It would be great to see you at some kind of huge festival.....!!  [I couldn't agree more... ;-) ]

                     Chuck, Toronto, Ontario

"I have been listening to you [from the web site] the last 30 minutes playing Stevie's music. Having listened to all Stevie's music relentlessly, his licks are subconsciously burned into my brainwaves. I consider myself an expert. It's the first time in almost 20 years of listening to SRV I have heard his guitar riffs and "that sound" played truly by any human other the man himself. About your vocals, I truly hear you have listened to Stevie countless times because you emphasize certain parts and I have caught this instantly so, I've noticed. You're committed, man. If someone played an excerpt of the vocals, I would not mistake it for Stevie, BUT IF THEY PLAYED an excerpt of the guitar, damn it, I probably would! Son of a bitch. The main train is the guitar and you are on the right track, and not back at the caboose, you're knocking on the driver's seat, baby. Great job. I love what you're doing. "Mary Had A Little Lamb" is amazingly toe-to-toe pure studio.

"I'm a big SRV fan and I know his music. When I listened to the songs on your site I was boogieing and very impressed. Great job!"

                     Karen from Fort Worth, Texas

"Thank-you so much for the wonderful show you and your band put on...

"Thanks so much for continuing the music of Stevie Ray, I hope you are proud of yourself, I am sure Stevie is. You guys are truly professionals, on stage and off; thanks so much for taking the time to chat [between] your sets, my wife and I were so impressed by that favor.

"...please let us know when and where your future shows will be, it would really mean a lot to us, too see and hear that sweet guitar."

Darren and Cheryl from Georgetown, Ontario

"Renny – Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your band on Sunday in Port Credit [at the Southside Shuffle] – You are awesome!! – definitely, a 'Zen' afternoon! Thought you were the best!"

                    Marie of Mississauga, Ontario

"I didn't know a lot about Stevie Ray Vaughan. I wasn't a R & B fan up until then. I was really impressed with your music as you had the house rockin. You can really play that guitar (just like Stevie could).

"I liked the music so much, I went out the next day and picked up a couple of Stevie's CD's and I have been really pleased with them. I have listened to other artists since in R & B, but I haven't taken to them like I have with Steve Ray.

"You do a wonderful rendition of his work and I hope to see you in concert once again in the near future."

Don W (Hooked on Stevie Ray Vaughan music)

"I must say that you guys put on one hell of a show and I was impressed with the reproduction and emulation of SRV.

"I have not heard anyone come even remotely close to his sound and style in all my years of DeeJaying in clubs and bars.

"Thanks for doing a fantastic job. A great time was had by all."

                     Dave P from Durham region

"Last night I had a great time at Grossman's Tavern. In my opinion SRV was the best blues guitarist and nobody can never ever create and compose a guitar Solo and play Texas Blues like him. But you guys did a great job and play almost like him, and also nice costume!"

Kayvan from Toronto, Ontario (originally from Iran)

"I listened to the demo CD and I'm speechless. I love your guitar playing and you sing like an angel ...  you sound like Stevie Ray ... Rave On for Stevie."

                     Melissa D. Sac City, Iowa
